Using Inter-ridge Distance for Fingerprint Classification

چکیده
An average inter-ridge distance (AID) computation method is proposed, and the average inter-ridge distance is used to classify fingerprint images. This method is experimentally proved to be able to speed up retrieving a fingerprint from the template database that is organized according to the inter -ridge distance. Inter-ridge distance-based classification method has the property of being able to be easily combined with existing classification methods.
